Founded in 2019 by Grace Beverley, TALA is a sustainable activewear brand that is 'accessible and inclusive without ever sacrificing performance or fit'. Since its launch, TALA has taken the internet by storm with viral content. In its first year, TALA made £6 million in sales.Grace Beverley has proudly shared on social media that TALA has remained profitable every single year since its inception. Today TALA employs over 45 people. In 2022, it already raised £4.2 million to accelerate growth. This week, it was announced that existing investors Pembroke VCT, Venrex, and Active Partners have doubled down and invested another £5 million in the company. The new funding will aid TALA's international expansion, initially in the US, where it says it has gained significant customer and social media traction. It also intends to explore the potential for establishing a physical standalone high-street retail presence for the first time.TALA is not Beverley’s only company. Previously, she successfully co-founded SHREDDY , a fitness app. As well as The Productivity Method, a company selling productivity planners. She also invested in companies like Wild, Huel, Clean Kitchen UK, and Sojo. It’s a great example of an influencer diversifying her income streams by building her own companies and investing in others.

What an inspiring young woman! Would be fascinating to understand where she first started with all of this and how her success took off in the way it did.

This is how the Cavinder Twins went from student-athletes to content creators to successful businesswomen. Haley Cavinder and Hanna Cavinder (23) are twins who play basketball 🏀 as student-athletes at the Miami Hurricanes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the twins started creating content on TikTok to kill time. Today, sharing content with their nearly 6.5 million followers has become a part of Haley and Hanna's daily routine. Before, student-athletes were not allowed to earn money. However, a groundbreaking NCAA decision in 2021 changed everything when student-athletes were allowed to profit from their name, image, and likeness (NIL). The Cavinder Twins capitalized on this tremendously, earning nearly $2M 🤑 from NIL and brand deals. The two have already signed brand deals with Boost Mobile, WWE, Champs Sports, Intuit TurboTax Verified Pro, and Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers. The most recent brand deal they signed was a 3-year deal with Under Armour. The Cavinder Twins are unique because they don’t stop at brand deals only. Where possible, they have chosen equity and ownership over cash. The portfolio already includes: 🎰 Betr - Jake Paul’s sports betting and media company 🥛 Slate Milk - an all-natural protein drink ⚡️ Bucked Up - an energy drink company. The two even launched their own flavor called Double Rizz💄 Most recently, they also did an equity deal with Hustle Beauty to become the brand’s co-founders. Hustle Beauty creates cosmetics for active women to ensure that women working out still look just as good as they do when heading out for a night out. Great celebrity-product-market-fit if you ask me. Most of the duo’s content combines fitness and beauty, which is the brand’s essence. The Cavinder Twins have created a blueprint for other student-athletes on leveraging NIL and setting themselves up for success. But that doesn’t mean every student-athlete or content creator will make similar choices. Kudos to them for seeing the bigger picture, betting on themselves by doing equity deals, and launching their own brands. As well as kudos to their team - Jeff Hoffman.

Actress Jennifer Morrison has joined Amia, a migraine-friendly food brand as co-founder and chief brand officer. Amia is tackling migraines with trigger-free snacks, and now actress and director Jennifer Morrison is joining the team as cofounder and chief brand officer to scale the business further. Morrison, who starred in “Once Upon a Time” and “House,” has dealt with migraines her whole life but has been able to manage them over the years by adjusting her diet, making Amia the ideal brand to work with. Jon Katz, Amia’s founder, learned about Morrison’s struggle with migraines through a medication campaign she previously did. That prompted the Amia team to initiate a relationship with Morrison. After trying out Amia’s trigger-free products, which include an array of baked oats and seed bars, she was hooked. “We became very fast friends. We totally bonded over what we’ve been dealing with with migraines,” said Morrison. “Now we’ve teamed up to try to bring this to the rest of the world.” Amia, which launched in 2023, is aiming to reach the 40 million Americans who experience migraines. While the attacks can be triggered by an array of elements, including light and dehydration, food plays a key role for many. Some triggers include chocolate, gluten, and caffeine. The Amia team works closely with several experts to ensure the products are safe for migraine patients. “We want to make sure that in the broadest way possible, we’re avoiding foods that are known to trigger migraines,” Morrison said. As chief brand officer and co-founder, Morrison aims to expand the brand’s reach and strengthen its light and friendly approach to migraine messaging. Morrison plans to double down on social media messaging and use her own platform to promote the brand further. Great celebrity-product-market-fit if you ask me. https://lnkd.in/eF9viMFh

This creator makes $5M/y by creating fun videos on how to use Excel 🤑Kat Norton (30) used to work as a consultant in 2020. The pandemic happened, forcing Norton to work from home. This gave her more spare time to pursue other side hustles. Norton wrote down things she loved: dancing, teaching, and, you can already guess, Excel. She thought, what if I could combine all of these in one? So she did. Norton opened the TikTok account ‘Miss Excel’ and started making videos about Excel tricks infused with creativity, music, and dance.People loved it. Within three weeks, she had over 100,000 followers. At this point, she wasn’t making much money from it. But that soon changed. At the end of 2020, she started selling Excel courses. Within two months, it made her more money than her corporate job. That’s why Norton quit her job and focused full-time on Miss Excel. Today, Norton has over 2 million followers and makes over $5M a year. The courses are the main revenue driver, but Norton has also diversified by offering white-label courses to companies to help train their staff on using Excel. And doing brand deals with companies like Microsoft. Miss Excel is an excellent (pun intended) example of a creator who turned her passion into a business. She first built an audience and used that as the marketing channel to start selling products relevant to her audience. What a story!
